People Analytics for Federal Performance Management – A Data-Driven Approach

Earlier this week, Acendre was delighted to host a jam-packed industry briefing and workshop for federal human capital leaders at the Partnership for Public Service. The event focused on using data analytics to strengthen and drive individual performance at attendees’ agencies.

Public and private sector leaders shared real-world experiences, tips and strategies for how to collect, use and leverage performance data. Attendees from the federal government engaged each other and workshop facilitators on best practices around building a data-driven approach to employee performance management.

The event included a presentation by Jim Dwyer, Quality Assurance Senior Analyst at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), who provided the audience with real examples of how the PTO has aligned data analytics with intra-agency strategies for identifying and addressing individual performance management needs.

Mike Giuffrida, Acendre CEO, led a lively panel discussion titled Dissecting Data’s Role in Individual Performance. The panel discussed ways data analytics supports and drives strong individual performance. Panel members included the PTO’s Jim Dwyer, Ventris Gibson, Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer at the Department of Health and Human Services, Antonia Harris, Chief Human Capital Officer at the General Services Administration, and Karlease Kelly, Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The event also included hands-on information sharing, as attendees broke out into working groups. These groups also produced actionable items on issues such as opportunities for improved collecting and analysis of data within their agencies, how HR departments can use the data they have today to support and improve individual performance, and more. Spokespersons from each group presented findings to all attendees in an interactive session.

Another lively, informative session as we look to keep the federal talent management conversation going.

We’re listening to federal human capital leaders across the US federal government and bringing them together.
