Transurban Case Study

Transurban Group is an international toll road operator with interests in Australia and the United States. It is an ASX top 50 company that services approximately five million customers globally from offices in Melbourne, Sydney, New York and Washington DC. All of Transurban’s Hiring Managers, HR and Executive teams use Acendre’s eRecruit system.

Partnering with Acendre

Transurban went through a rigorous tender process to select their online recruitment vendor. Acendre Recruitment was the most suitable for Transurban for a few reasons which Transurban’s Recruitment Consultant Rebecca Midson discussed. “Not only does Acendre have a well-deserved reputation within the market place, their solution is flexible and can be tailored to our needs. Resolving Business Challenges

Rebecca discussed how implementing Acendre Recruitment has allowed them to solve some major problems, automate their recruitment processes and reduce unnecessary administration tasks.

“Acendre Recruitment has made it easier to manage candidates and have visibility of what candidates have applied for now or previously, “Rebecca said. She also explained that following the implementation of Acendre Recruitment there has been significant process improvements. “Previously we were not using an online recruitment system and there were a lot of administration tasks associated with our recruitment process, which was time consuming and unproductive,” she said. “Acendre Recruitment now stores all of our candidates’ information so we don’t have to manually file personnel and data information, such as references and CVs.”

“Another issue we were experiencing prior to the implementation of Acendre Recruitment was that there was no easy way to track and store details of who had applied for roles previously. We have restrictions on candidates applying through different agencies over a six month period and eRecruit allows us to track that.” Rebecca added.

Transurban is also benefiting from Acendre Recruitment’s approval process and reporting functionality. “The approval process has made our recruitment process significantly easier. We now have several approval steps, which can easily be tracked from HR through to the Hiring Manager and Executive Team who can oversee the process without having to search through an email trail,” Rebecca also discussed how the reporting functionality is another outstanding aspect of Acendre Recruitment. “The ability to have visibility into recruiting costs and facilitating strategic budgeting is a great bonus,” she said.

Achieving Return on Investment

Rebecca explained that one of the main benefits of Acendre Recruitment is the reduced recruitment time and ability to recruit effectively whilst managing a large volume of roles. “Acendre Recruitment has all of the functionalities that allow me to recruit for a large volume of roles. If we used a system that didn’t have all of Acendre Recruitment’s functionality, which couldn’t immediately post to different portals, track candidates and lacked an approval system, it wouldn’t be possible for me to recruit the volume of roles that I do in a timely manner. In fact, I would imagine we would need another resource or to allocate work to other members of the team.”

Quite simply Acendre Recruitment has reduced Transurban’s costs by reducing head count required for recruitment and streamlined the recruitment process, while also making it easy for the rest of the business to track.
